Belinda’s Bloomers is a mini dahlia flower farm in Remuera. Goodbye lawns - hello dahlia fields!
Approximately 600 dahlia plants fill four garden zones with incredible flowers. The main garden is organised into a colour gradient from light to dark colours. There’s also an experimental dahlia breeding garden where new varieties are being created. The Ball Pit is a garden filled with only round shaped ball dahlias. And there’s even a garden with the blackest dahlias!
Bring your camera!
You’re invited to attend a guided tour on the hour, every hour. You’ll see different varieties and shapes of gorgeous dahlias, and hear about pollinating dahlias to collect seeds, how dahlias grow from tubers, and how to take cuttings.
You can also hear about Belinda’s soil conditioning with home made lactic acid bacteria (LAB), rainwater harvesting, and greenhouse experiments.
